But that doesn't mean this is going to be lengthy by any stretch. I just wanted to keep things somewhat active on the blog here. And offer up a crap-cam shot of the small swamp I'm hosting in my office.
Months ago my friend down the hall gave me a spider plant that used to live on her porch. The plant is large and healthy and is constantly growing new babies that usually get crushed by the vacuum of the night cleaning crew.
As a matter of fact, my first post was about a begonia that the cleaning crew over watered. (Though I think the flower shop that sent the flower didn't send a healthy specimen either.)
But green things in my office make me smile, seeing as my apartment isn't plant friendly because of the three cats who insist on muchning on anything green and snappy.
Like the pineapple I bought last week. The leaves couldn't have been tasty, but that didn't stop the orange cat from hopping up on the counter and chewing the leaves into mangled ribbons of the pineapples former glory.
Another cat casualty. Including the massive bruise the pineapple incurred after said cat knocked it off the counter while trying to munch said leaves of said pineapple.
Oh, and now I've got a flowering plant too. I call it the virus fish because it's latin name is streptocarpus, or something like that. It's a relative of african violets apparently. I can hardly wait for the flowers to bloom!
As for the photos I'd like to add, no such luck. Let's hear it for the funtioning firewall!!
